This subject builds the technical skills behind financial reporting, budgeting, tax and investment, together with the judgement to explain what the figures mean. Teaching combines technical practice on real company accounts with the commercial awareness employers look for.

Entry requirements for UK students

  • Open to UK residents, including British and Irish citizens and people with settled or pre-settled status.
  • No formal qualifications are needed for most applicants aged 21 or over. You simply have a friendly interview and complete a short written task.
  • Work and life experience count, whatever your background and however long you have been out of education.
  • You will need photo ID and proof of address dated within the last month. If you are not a British or Irish citizen, you will also need a share code.

Fees and funding

Eligible home students can apply to Student Finance England for a Tuition Fee Loan, paid directly to the institution, and a Maintenance Loan to help with living costs. Repayments only start once you have finished and earn above the repayment threshold.

Parents, carers and students with disabilities may qualify for extra, non-repayable support such as the Childcare Grant, Parents' Learning Allowance or Disabled Students' Allowance.
