Visa and Residency Support

Immigration rules can be confusing. We explain the process, help you prepare your documents and work closely with the institution's compliance team.

International students

If you are coming to the UK to study, you will usually need a Student visa. We explain how the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) works, what financial and English language evidence you need, and the right time to apply.

Students already living in the UK

If you live in the UK but are not a British or Irish citizen, institutions must check your right to study, normally using a share code from GOV.UK. We help you generate and share it, and explain how your status affects Student Finance.

When you need a regulated adviser

We provide general information and document preparation. For complex cases such as previous refusals, status disputes or appeals, we will tell you clearly that you need advice from a regulated immigration adviser or solicitor.

Common questions

Can my family come with me?

Under current rules, most students on taught courses cannot bring dependants. Students on postgraduate research programmes such as a PhD usually can. Rules change, so we always check the current position.

What is a share code?

A share code is a nine-character code from GOV.UK that lets an institution check your immigration status online. It is valid for a limited time, so we ask for it close to your application.
