Law shapes every part of life, from contracts and employment to crime, family and human rights. Teaching combines legal knowledge with practical skills such as legal writing, problem-solving and advocacy.
A Certificate of Higher Education is a one-year, Level 4 qualification and a recognised award in its own right. Successful students can usually continue into the second year of a related degree.

Entry requirements for UK students
- Open to UK residents, including British and Irish citizens and people with settled or pre-settled status.
- No formal qualifications are needed for most applicants aged 21 or over. You simply have a friendly interview and complete a short written task.
- Work and life experience count, whatever your background and however long you have been out of education.
- You will need photo ID and proof of address dated within the last month. If you are not a British or Irish citizen, you will also need a share code.

Fees and funding
Eligible home students can apply to Student Finance England for a Tuition Fee Loan, paid directly to the institution, and a Maintenance Loan to help with living costs. Repayments only start once you have finished and earn above the repayment threshold.
Parents, carers and students with disabilities may qualify for extra, non-repayable support such as the Childcare Grant, Parents' Learning Allowance or Disabled Students' Allowance.
