Course overview

A PhD is an extended, independent research project that makes an original contribution to knowledge. You will develop a research proposal, review the literature, design and carry out your study, and write a thesis that is examined by experts in the field.

Alongside your supervisors you will receive training in research methods and academic writing, and opportunities to present at seminars and conferences.

For graduates with a strong master's degree and a clear research interest, including professionals who want to research an issue from their own industry.

Entry requirements

  • A master's degree (merit or above) in a relevant subject, or equivalent
  • A research proposal of around 2,000 words
  • International applicants: IELTS 7.0 overall or equivalent
